Boomer started out as a watchdog security program, the kind that would simply bounce anything out of place away from the system. Not really a firewall and not really an antivirus, but a little like both, though really something more like a pop-up blocker on steroids. It should be no surprise that during Clu's reign he was one of the elite Black Guard.

Boomer is physically imposing, even intimidating, he's tall enough and broad-shouldered enough to fill a doorway, it's just how he was designed. It's his job to keep things out, but not to provide a beatdown, that's up to other programs. He is, despite his build, something of a soft touch, and has been known to do things like reunite lost bits with their owners.

Now? Now he's just glad to be back to doing what he does best, being an intruder alert.
